Spells

The color spray spell is redefined in this world. In addition, spells and their effects are slightly modified as follows:

  • When a spell asks the player to choose a color, or a color is randomly chosen, the color instead defaults to the primary Color of the caster, or the closest color to their primary as determined by the DM. If more than one color must be chosen, such as in the prismatic wall spell, the caster’s primary Color must be chosen for those colors as well. Dichromats may choose between their primary and secondary Colors.
  • When a spell asks the player to choose a magical damage type, or a damage type is randomly chosen, the damage type instead defaults to the damage type associated with the primary Color of the caster. If that damage type is not present, the caster may choose as normal. If more than one damage type must be chosen, the associated damage type of the caster’s primary Color must be chosen for those damage types as well. Dichromats may choose between their primary and secondary Colors. If either damage type association is present, they must choose that type.
  • When a spell causes light to be emitted or directly creates fire, the color of the light or fire is the primary Color of the caster. Dichromats may choose between their primary and secondary Colors.
